11th November 2010: The South Burnett's iconic
Wine & Food In The Park Festival expects that the 2011 event will be the
biggest and best yet.
The Festival has been held at Kingaroy's Memorial Park on the second Saturday in March for the last 12 years.
During that time It's grown to become one of the
largest wine festivals of its type in south-east Queensland as well as a
signature event for the South Burnett.
"Every year we like to introduce some
new things to keep Wine & Food fresh and interesting for our guests," President Bernie Cooper said. "People like our format but we never stop pushing the envelope - and I think our guests really like that too".
"So right now we're looking at several ideas that people have suggested to us to see if we can bring them to next year's Festival".
These include introducing a new
VIP section where - for a small extra fee -patrons could be guaranteed their own
secure, under-cover area at the Festival with guaranteed tables and seating; holding a
Wine Masterclass in the evening where guests could get walked through a small range of wines by an expert and learn the finer points of what to look out for (and what to avoid) when buying wines; and a
new format for the PCA Regional Cuisine Cook-Offs.
Two weeks ago the Festival launched its
Facebook page with a composite video clip of the 2010 event; and today they announced their first entertainment booking for next year: talented up-and-coming musician
Rob Black (
